Gaz Coombes ~ Matador
The first "essential grooves" of 2015.
Gaz's 2nd solo LP puts even further space between himself & Supergrass' "I Should Coco". Elements of perhaps of the third self titled LP (the X Ray album) would be a better comparison. Matador is an album that rocks with scattered soundscapes in between, but never strays too far from songwriting over atmosphere. The sound quality on this LP is outstanding with a depth, clarity and dynamic that make this a joy to listen to.
